Alan Brown is Professor of Innovation and Entrepreneurship and Associate Dean of Entrepreneurship and Innovation for the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law (FBEL) at the University of Surrey UK. He is an internationally-recognized leader in the fields of Enterprise Information Systems, Methods and Tools for Application Development and Delivery, and Distributed Software Delivery Practices, with a record of innovation and entrepreneurship in solution delivery at commercial organizations from venture-funded start-ups to major enterprise corporations. He has extensive experience in both industry and academia.

Rachel Cartmail is Head of Business Change for THE NET-A-PORTER GROUP, whose brands include NET-A-PORTER.COM, the world’s premier online luxury fashion retailer, THEOUTNET.COM, the most fashionable fashion outlet and MRPORTER.COM, the first global online menswear destination. She began her career at the Royal Academy of Music where her passion for solving problems with technology propelled her to join the HALIFAX IT Graduate programme. From there she has worked in a number of fields ranging from Consultancy, Retail, Healthcare and Newspapers before joining NET-A PORTER in 2010. Rachel is now Head of Business Change and responsible for providing portfolio management, technical and strategic programme delivery and business analysis expertise for the Group.

He has managed multi-million pound technology budgets and programmes that delivered significant benefits. He has extensive experience of service management and product lifecycle best practices.

Darren has built strong teams at the hub of digital innovation for several organisations including Hearst, Rightmove, News International and Associated Newspapers. He has extensive experience of transformation to create a culture of innovation and change. This transformation is essential for delivering digital strategies, including mobile and cloud services.

Shirley Lacy is Managing Director of ConnectSphere. She specialises in the application of change and service management best practices to deliver value from IT investments. She  has extensive experience in helping clients to adopt service lifecycle best practices and transform to a customer service culture.

Shirley is highly regarded within the industry and is an authority on service management practices. Shirley is a co-author of ITIL Service Transition publication and project mentor for the ITIL update. Shirley is the UK representative on the International Standards groups that develop IT service management, cloud computing and assessment standards, ISO/IEC 20000.

Mark Merifield

Mark Merifield is Head of Information Management Services at The National Archives. He joined the organisation in 2008 after managing online research repositories in the private sector and brought his knowledge of managing digital to the Digital Continuity Project Team. There he helped explore the inherent risks within managing digital information and shape the understanding of what managing continuity means.

His team delivers supports central government in the management of digital information and records. They provide guidance and direct engagement to support government in managing the availability of its information through business and technology change to ensure the digital record survives.


Dr Richard Sykes

Dr Richard Sykes, Educated at Cambridge and Yale, Richard’s two key competencies are in board chairmanship and in practical strategic visioning. In addition to his deep experience in the broad world of business-applied information technology, he also has a strong interest in, and involvement in, the world of visual arts. Richard’s work all relates to exploitation of his two key competencies in these fields. Goals are to keep actively developing his portfolio of chairmanships and build his personal practice, 'Dr Richard Sykes' as board-level trusted adviser, strategic coach & facilitator with vigour as he builds and deepens his experience.
