Tao Xie is an Associate Professor and Willett Faculty Scholar in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Washington at Seattle in 2005. He has worked as a visiting researcher at Microsoft Research. His research interests focus on software testing and analysis. He was an ACM Distinguished Speaker and is an IEEE Computer Society Distinguished Visitor. He received a 2014 Google Faculty Research Award, a 2011 Microsoft Research Software Engineering Innovation Foundation (SEIF) Award, and 2008-2010 IBM Faculty Awards.
